We know that Jesus tore the veil separating us from the holy of holies when He died on the cross. Do we realize that Jesus has already restored us back to the place we were at (spiritually) in the Garden of Eden?
As we long for this place again, we must come to the realization that we have already been restored and have access back into the garden where initial fellowship with God began. We call out, “Take us back to the garden God!” without realizing again, the veil was torn. We continually fall into a place of dissatisfaction because without realizing it, Jesus is no longer our focus. Taking His place is our desires for power, glory and wisdom among other things He gives (Ephesians 1:4).
Without realizing it, we dishonor Jesus. We use Him for power, glory and wisdom instead of seeking a relationship with Him. The church has come to a place of using the body of Jesus Christ instead of giving Jesus the adoration and love He deserves foremost.
We are living in a time where we have fallen into a place like that of Simon the sorcerer who desired power instead of a relationship with Jesus. This is where the body of Christ is today “Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual and demonic/of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition there you find disorder and every evil practice (James 3:15-16 NIV)
We need not go back to the place of our creation before the foundations of the earth where we were with God. We should not desire to go back to a place that was tainted by sin in the heavens (Ezekiel 28:15 NIV). We have a place being prepared for us who are not of this world (Hebrews 11:13-16 NIV). “Instead, they were longing for a better country-a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.” (Hebrews 11:16 NIV)
Jesus Sanctified Himself to do the Father’s will. Are we so audacious to think we truly know our Father’s will without a relationship with Jesus Christ Himself? It was Jesus who sanctified Himself to do the Father’s will so that we too may be sanctified in His Truth (John 17:19 NIV). If Jesus sought out our Father’s will in relationship what makes us think we don’t have to? What makes us think that we are entitled to that which was made through intimacy? (See Philippians 2:5-8) Jesus desires for you to know the truth and nothing but the Truth.
Jesus, lead the humble in justice and teach the humble your ways. (Psalm 25:9 NIV)
We are not here to win the approval of men, but approval from God. We are also not here to try to please, get attention or gain favor from men. For if we are still trying to please men then we would not be a servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:10 NIV)
The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God
(Galatians 5:19-21 NIV)
Let us all humble ourselves today and come as the tax collector who beat his breast and said, “God have mercy on me, a sinner!”
As we remember Jesus dying on the cross, descending into hell for us and His resurrection from the dead, may we focus on the One, Jesus Christ, our Savior, our redeemer and our soon coming King! He IS the lover of our souls, the fulfillment of our heart’s desires and the very reason why we live and have our being here on this earth.
HE IS ALIVE, ALIVE, ALIVE!!!!!!!
He is alive and waiting to meet you so let us look forward, fix our eyes on the author and finisher of our faith who HAS gone ahead to prepare the new heavens and the new earth for us! So let us set our hearts and minds on things above, not on earthly things.
But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness (2Peter 3:13 NIV).
